Aurora is our largest single industrial brand by part count — close to 200 shaft seals. Aurora pumps turn up in fire protection, HVAC, municipal water and general industrial service, and like most of that category they long outlive the catalogues that documented them.

How to order
By the Aurora part number from the pump tag or your records. Numbers often look like 712-0922-753 — a hyphenated group format distinctive to the brand.

Hyphenation varies between documents. If searching with hyphens returns nothing, try without.
Fire pump service deserves a note
Where an Aurora unit is part of a fire protection system, seal replacement is not routine maintenance in the ordinary sense — it may be subject to inspection and testing requirements. Follow whatever standard governs your installation, and keep records.
Fitting
- Wipe both faces with isopropyl alcohol — skin oils interfere with the fluid film.
- Lubricate the bellows and seat cup only. Never the faces.
- Press the ceramic seat squarely using a flat tool across the whole rubber cup.
- Prime before starting. Seconds of dry running scores a carbon face.
- Inspect the shaft — a groove or pit under the bellows destroys a new seal quickly.

Before you reassemble

Seat every o-ring with a thin film of food-grade silicone. Dry rings pinch and take a set. Aqua Flex Food Grade Silicone Lubricant is what ships in our kits.
O-rings only. Never lubricate the polished faces of a mechanical shaft seal.
