If you own an in-ground pool in North America, there is a fair chance a Hayward Super Pump has moved its water at some point. Hayward has built the line for decades across several revisions, and the revisions matter when ordering.

Super Pump versus Super Pump II
They are not the same pump. The Super Pump II uses a different wet end and its own seal. Hayward Super Pump II shaft seal is listed separately for that reason.
Check the motor plate rather than assuming. Model numbers in the SP2600 family — SP2600X5, SP2605X7, SP2607X10, SP2610X15, SP2615X20 — indicate horsepower in the suffix.
The seals that fail
- Strainer cover o-ring — loss of prime, air in the basket. The most replaced part on the pump.
- Housing / seal plate o-ring — a steady drip under the pump body.
- Drain plug o-rings — small, cheap, on the suction side, and a common source of air ingestion.
- Shaft seal — water between the motor and the wet end. Urgent.
Air, not water

Do the whole wet end
Once the pump is apart, every seal has aged the same. Our rebuild kits bundle the shaft seal with every o-ring and gasket for the specific pump.
Before you reassemble

Seat every o-ring with a thin film of food-grade silicone. Dry rings pinch and take a set. Aqua Flex Food Grade Silicone Lubricant is what ships in our kits.
O-rings only. Never lubricate the polished faces of a mechanical shaft seal.
